3D Printing

In this ever rapidly evolving business world, a 3D Printer can make you and your business ahead of the competition. Who would have thought that 3D printing can come to reality when years before, everyone was completely okay with the usual printing and scanning those printers can offer? Let’s get to know more about 3D printing.

What is 3D printing all about?
3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. In an additive process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the object is created. Each of these layers can be seen as a thinly sliced horizontal cross-section of the eventual object.

How does 3D printing work?
It all starts with making a virtual design of the object you want to create. This virtual design is for instance a CAD (Computer Aided Design) file. This CAD file is created using a 3D modeling application or with a 3D scanner (to copy an existing object). A 3D scanner can make a 3D digital copy of an object.

With all those 3D printers available, how would you know which one fits your needs?
Here’s something you might want to take a look at, the Wanhao Duplicator 7, the newest resin desktop DLP 3D printer from Wanhao. It has a build area of 120 x 68 x 200mm (LxWxH) and a layer resolution capability of 35 microns. The Duplicator 7 also has a printing accuracy of Z: 0.004mm and can print layers between 0.035~0.5mm which results to quite remarkable prints and the flaws wouldn't be noticeable to the naked eye. This latest model also comes with a selection of new high-quality resins in different colors. You can also use different types of resins for your different projects, since it is compatible with a number of available resins in the market today. It is equipped with a 2560 x 1440 pixels HD LCD screen for better viewing of the models prior to printing. This particular model offers a build speed of 15mm to 35mm/Hour. At 12kg, it is one of the lightest desktop 3D printers available.

One of the biggest improvements from the previous model is that it comes with a HANDLE on the top lid. The printing plate is considerably smaller and sanded compared to the previous version. What’s more exciting is that it is now available and affordable here at MetroSix. Grab the chance to own the incredible Wanhao Duplicator 7 3D printer now!
